  • President Polk Station General Zachary Tylor in disputed territory with an Army of 4,000 men.

  • First Hostilities

    Mexican Army crossed the Rio Grande and killed or wounded 16 of Talyor's men.

  • Sidell returned to Washington and informed Polk that he had rebuffed.

  • Polk Submitted his War Message

    Claimed, "American Blood was shed on American soil."
