Middle Ages: The final of the Han dynasty in AD 220 brought a lot of questions to China, as nomads fought from the North and the country divided into three kingdoms. China was brought back again by the brief rule of the Sui dynasty (581-618) before the Tang and, later, the Song dynasties was welcomed to power. The Chinese Empire was constantly under hazard from foreign enemies. The Mongols, a tribe of vehement nomadic warriors, surrounded northern China in 1211.

They were guided by Genghis Khan. In 1279, his grandson, Kulabi Khan finally subjugated all of China. He uplifted international trade and brought excellent wealth to the country.
