    Newspapers has been used as medium of sending information since the 17th century. Many people back then read newspapers to know information about certain events or phenomena. For me, I enjoy reading newspapers because, I enjoy reading the articles in the newspapers and opinions of some of the writers. I know in this digital age, the newspaper publishing is slowly fading and with that they made means in reviving it, like having apps that consumers can download in their phones.

    According to Techopedia, a typewriter is a machine that prints letters on paper. Whenever I go to my aunt’s house I would always type in things like letters or type my name and let other people see what I did. Nowadays, typewriters are frequently used because of personal computers or laptops but that did not stopped typewriters to evolve and keep up with technology today. There are now electronic typewriters in which you can use just like old typewriters but now there’s a backspace key.

    Telephones were the pioneers in letting people talk to each other, indirectly and still can hear the voices of each other through the other line. It was easy for many people to get information at first hand. I myself back then was an avid user of telephone, I would call my friends and talk for hours until my neck starts to hurt. Telephones, revolutionized the communication around the world, it made it easier for people to pass on information.

    TV transmits images in a screen or moving pictures with sound. It served as a medium of communication since the 1940’s and it was invented by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Moreover, television has been one of my companions since I was young, it was like a friend to me. Starting from the tv shows that I used to love like rugrats and victorious to the documentaries about serial killers I am fond of this invention and many people have been saved or have been given information because of television.

    A radio has been a way of getting information for the last 60 years, it served as a medium for military purposes during world war. For me, it served as my pass time during the weekends. It was my source of happiness because my family loves to listen to music especially 90’s music. From then on, I loved listening to music and it served the way of expressing myself to other people.

    Personal Computers was a huge hit in the Philippines during the 2000’s. Many computer shops were established because of personal computers. when I was younger, me and my mom used to go to this computer shop and spent countless hours playing or watching videos in the internet. Having friendster and yahoo messenger was our way in communicating with other people back then.

    A laptop is labeled as a portable personal computer because you can carry it anywhere you want. The first laptop that was invented is the “Osborne 1” by Osborne Computers in 1981 and it was worth $ 1,795. Today, laptops are more thinner and lighter. I still remember getting my first laptop and it was 4 inch think and it was so heavy and I could not carry it with me all the time. Its reliability helped me in all the things I need to accomplish especially schoolwork.

    In this day of age, you cannot see someone not having a smartphone in their hand. Everywhere you look or go, you will someone holding their phones. I get all the information I want on my phone. Smartphones, are reliable and compact because in just one touch you can see or have anything you want. Through it, information is sent faster and easier that’s why many people are fond of having smartphones because not only it is reliable but it is also small and compact and can fit in their pockets.
