  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence has great significance to many American people. This declaration justified our right to revolt against a government that no longer guaranteed us our nautral rights as Americans. Additionally, the Declaration of Independence gave certain ideas that the colonists believed were important to have such as liberty, justice, and freedom.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was one of the peace treaties that had concluded the American Revolutionary War and this treaty was signed by representatives of Great Britain. The Treaty of Paris also allowed the British to acknowledge the independence of the United States and allowed for the U.S. boundaries to be established.
  • The First President (George Washington)

    The first United States president was George Washington. He was the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. During the American Revolution, he led the colonial forces to victory over the British. Many people stated that Washington handed down a legacy of strength, integrity and national purpose. As years passes, George Washington then dies at the age of 67 at his Virginia Plantation in Mount Vernon.
  • Civil War Ends

    The Civil War was significant because it allowed for the abolishment of the institution of slavery in America. Also, the Civil War redefined the United States as a single, indivisible nation rather than being independent states. The Civil War also gave blacks the rights to vote, lead to industrialization, and it created unity.
