    In this chronicle a ship is taking off from Earth to go to Mars. It is the first manned expedition to Mars. The rocket changes everything around it.

    Ylla
    Ylla is a female Martian and is living a bland marriage with her husband. She begins to have dreams of Earth men arriving on Mars. This angers her husband and when they arrive he goes out and kills them.

    The Summer Night
    The Martians begin to sing strange songs and play strange music. It is actually things from Earth. This worries many Martians. They believe something terrible is coming soon.
  • The Earth Men

    The Earth Men
    The second manned expedition to Mars lands. The men go to Martian house to Martian house. All of the Martians ignore the Earth men. Finally they seem to be taken seriously, but it turns out they're taken to an asylum, where they are eventually killed to try to prove that they are not Earth men.

    As the Third Expedition is about to take off a taxpayer tries to get on. He is stopped before he gets close. He wants to leave Earth due to fear of war coming soon.

    The Third Expedition
    The Third Expedition lands to find that there is a human town with the family members and dead relatives of the crew members. They spend time with them, until the captain realizes somethings up and that the people are disguised Martians. The Martians then killed him and the rest of the crew and held a funeral for them.

    The Fourth Expedition lands and they discover that the Martians have been wiped out by human disease. One crew member, Spender, becomes obsessed with the Martians and tries to avenge them. He kills multiple crew members and then hides in the Martian towns. Captain Wilder eventually kills Spender and then tries to protect Mars from too much human influence.

    Many people now want to go to Mars. The government wants to send many people there. People are becoming too needy on Earth and must move.
  • The Green Morning

    The Green Morning
    A man named Benjamin Driscoll misses Earth and wants to grow trees on Mars. He then obtains seeds from Earth. He then plants the seeds and like magic, Mars begins to turn green like Earth.
  • The Locusts

    The Locusts
    People begin coming in large groups. They make Mars what they wish and in their imagine. They begin to ruin it, much like Earth.

    The Night Meeting
    A man drives out one night after talking with his dad. He then goes to a Martian town and finds a ghost like Martian. They both talk about how weird it is. They seem to be in different times and try to convince each other on who's real. They eventually part ways.

    The first of the men who came to Mars were Americans, followed by more Americans, while the Earth fell apart. Next came men of God.
  • The Fire Balloons

    The Fire Balloons
    Two priests come to Mars to observe Martians that have transcended into blue balls of flames. They try to make sense of it and free them from sins. They then worship the blue flames and prove that they are the Jesus of Mars. They leave and believe it was a sign of God and believe that there are other signs out there to be discovered.

    Cities begin to spring up around Mars. They are bright and futuristic. They start to make Mars more like Earth.

    Children are playing around in dead Martian villages. They play in dead Martian remains and then make music with them. Groups of men then come with flamethrowers to cleanse the areas.

    Two women are nervous about going to Mars. They fear leaving everything behind. They want to find a way to stay. They do go to Mars and in the end the enjoy it and feel happy over it.

    Much of Mars is being named after explorers. It shows Earth becoming even closer to Mars
  • Usher II

    Usher II
    A wealthy man, known as Stendahl, create a replica of the House of Usher. he is still mad at the fact that literature has been suppressed by the government. He gets a government inspector to come to his house and murders him. He replaces him with a robot and invites politicians. From there he then murders them and then ends up getting trapped in the ground when leaving his house after having so many of them killed.

    Now that there are many people on mars it begins to change. The elderly of Earth begin to venture to Mars. They seek to forget the troubles of Earth.

    The Martian
    LaFarge and his wife have moved to Mars at a late age. They try to forget their son Tom. One night they see their son Tom outside and then bring him back in. LaFarge figures out that Tom is a Martian, but keeps that to himself. Tom goes out and then joins other families as there lost loved ones. Eventually everyone wants to be with him and then he gets confused and his powers begin to struggle and the Martian then melts.

    Atomic war is coming close on Earth. A priest and a luggage salesman discuss this topic. They believe everyone will go back if war does break out and that luggage sales will go up.
  • The Off-Season

    The Off-Season
    Sam Parkhill has opened up a hot dog stand on Mars. On one day he is approached by a Martian and kills it. He then flees from a large group of them. He eventually ends up in a shootout with them and eventually surrenders to the Martians. They wish him no harm and give him a piece of paper. It is a deed to half of Mars and they tell him to prepare for some big event coming up soon. That night Sam witnesses the start of the atomic war on Earth.

    The Watchers
    People on Mars observe and listen as the Earth is destroyed. Australia is straight up gone from an accidental detonation. People from Mars all head back to join the war effort.
  • The Silent Towns

    The Silent Towns
    Walter Gripp has been left behind on Mars. He doesn't believe anyone else is left and searches for others. Eventually he finds another person, a woman. He meets her and does not like her. To him she is annoying and fat. He eventually leaves her and then prefers loneliness over finding other people.
  • The Long Years

    The Long Years
    Hathaway has been living on Mars with his family ever since the war. He goes out every once in awhile to an unknown grave and weeps. Eventually Captain Wilder comes back to Mars and discovers Hathaway. He eventually suspects that something is wrong with the family. Hathaway then dies of a sudden heart attack. Wilder then figures out that Hathaway's family died awhile ago and created robots in place of them. Wilder decides to leave them and heads for Earth.

    There Will Come Soft Rains
    A house is leftover from the war on Earth. A house tries to keep itself together over time, but it is beginning to fail. It goes about everything like usual, even with the absence of humans. A tree eventually crashes on the house and the house burns down and is gone for good.
  • The Million Year Picnic

    The Million Year Picnic
    A family arrives on Mars. The three children of the family are confused with what's going on and there is a hatred of Earth's tendencies and culture from the father. The father destroys their rocket and later on tells the family that they will be Martians from now on.
