Louisiana Purchase
We bought the land and bought it from New Orleans. The city of New Orleans was filled with farms products and valuable furs.And the Mississippi river increased trade for the U.S. this opportunity will increase trading. The person who bought the land was president Thomas Jefferson. This cost 10 million dollars. This made the United states double their size. -
Adams Onis Treaty
They made their own U.S. towns that upset them. Monroe sent troops. This took place in Florida. This action is unconstitutional because monroe invaded their territory. The both agreed upon to give each others land. The U.S. gain East Florida. And spain gained a name for what is now called Texas. They also both agreed upon to take responsibilities. -
Texas Annexation
The word Annex means to take countrol of Texas.They move to Texas because they can expand republic to the west and increase its power. African Americans could not Immigrate to Texas. They get independence and free African slave. The people living in Texas did not obey mexican culture. They wanted to enter as a slave state to expand the south. -
Mexican Cession
They argued over the Annexation of Texas. The name of the treaty that ended Mexican-American war is the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. the size of it was increased by almost 25% -
Oregon territory
These countries were originally shared from Great Britain, Russia, and the U.S. They were trying to avoid a war because they were afraid the war between them would affect trade rights. And also California were trying to avoid a war from Great Britain. -
Gadsden purchase
The continental boarder will be fixed. They payed 10 million for their parts. In the addition of the Gadsden purchase was the U.S. government paid Mexico 10 million for the southern parts for what is now Arizona and New Mexico and so with this purchase the continental boundaries of the U.S. were finally fixed. -

They found the Northwest territory. There were 5 places that were created out of the Northwest Territory and their names were Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and, wisconsin. -
