Original 13 colonies
After the Revoltuinary War the the 13 colonies began to form. They were the colnies of Great Britian. The citizens of the 13 colonies wanted to be independent form Britian so the Declaration of Independence was created. It was a document declaring the independece of the 13 colonies, from Britian. The citizens were finally getting freedom and had many more opertunittes. -
Northwest Territory
The nothwest territory was the states Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Ilinois, Wisconson and Minnesota. We got the land by treaty, with the Southern U.S. -

The agreement that the U.S. got East Flroida and we gave our claims of Texas to Mexico. -
Texas Annexation
America wanted to take controll of the land. A lot of families wanted to move to Texas because there was cheap and free land. But the American citizens were upset becasue the Mexican government that owned Texas was forcing the American citizens to become Mexican citizens and made them obey Mexican laws. Also how citizens had freedom of religion in the U.S. in Mexico they had to suport the Roman Catholic chuch. -
Manifest destiney
Manifest Destiney is the expansion of the U.S. westward. People belived that nothing could stop the growth of the U.S. and that God gave the United States to the right to take over the western part of the U.S. -
Oregon Territory
The signing of the Treaty of Oregon to get the states Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and parts of Wyoming and Montana. -
Mexican Cession
Mexican had possesion of California, Mexico didn't want Americans comming into their land and there was a war over the land. But the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo eneded the Mexican-Ameircan War. -
Gadsden Purchase
The Purchase of Arizona and New Mexico.
