    This Treaty was going to be a huge problem. The govern,ent didn’t view the Native Americans as tribal, they were all called Indians no matter what. Tribes were established boundaries.
  • Pacific Railway Act

    Pacific Railway Act
    This act connected two American coasts. This helped the economic export of western resources. This was the first transcontinental railroad. It made traveling much quicker and easier.
  • Homestead Act

    Homestead Act
    This act guaranteed 160 acres of land for only one dollar. It would make people move west. “Live there for five years and Improve the land.” You would easily ride to the area you wanted and stick a flag in it. 160 acres from that flag would be yours.
  • Sand Creek Massacre

    Sand Creek Massacre
    The causes of this massacre had plenty to do with the long conflict of control over the Great Plains of eastern Colorado. Hundred of U.S soldiers commanded by John M Chivington attacked 750 Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians in their villages. The troops drove them all out of their camps.
  • Battle of Little Bighorn

    Battle of Little Bighorn
    In this battle, three of the biggest tribes go on a warpath against minors. General Armstrong Custer goes in with 750 men, and chases three Native American tribes from South Dakota to Montana. While doing so, he split his forces into two. Not realizing this was a bad idea, and there were thousands of Indian Warriors in the area he came across.

    This acts aim was to create responsible farmers in the white man’s image. It emphasized Severalty; the treatment of Natives as individuals instead of members of tribes.
  • Massacre at Wounded Knee

    Massacre at Wounded Knee
    This was one of the last major conflicts of the long Indian wars. 146 Sioux were killed by the U.S Cavalry. It was originally referred to as a battle, however it was an unavoidable massacre.
