I was born at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 20th 1994.

Around July of 1998, my mom, step-dad, sister and I moved to Oceanside, California. My step-dad was in the military, so we lived on base for close to two years. Then, later returned home in Ohio.

After returning home from California, I attended first and second grade at Wheelersburg Elementary.

I graduated from Clay High School in May of 2013.

After graduating high school, I attended SSU for a year and a half. Then I decided to move to the Northern Kentucky area to attend school at Northern Kentucky University for 3 semesters.

Over spring break in 2015, my boyfriend and I drove across the U.S. and explored the Rocky's for a week. This was an amazing trip and made my love for traveling grow even further.

Over last years Christmas break, my boyfriend and I traveled to St. John in the Virgin Islands. It was my first time visiting a beach with crystal clear water.

In the first week of June, my boyfriend and I adopted our precious fur baby. She's a Presa Canario originating from the Canary Islands.

By the end of this course, I hope to have an overall better understanding of what phonics consists of and how it impacts young students learning to read. I also hope to learn various strategies that I can utilize when teaching phonics to my own students.
