    Little House on the Prairie
    When I was around 3 years old my mom started to read to me. Little House was my favorite book up until I was around 7. She read to me every night until I fell asleep.

    I can barely remember anything from when I was little, but I do remember my mom singing lullabies to me when we sat on our porch swing. She tried to teach me them but I could never remember so she took over. She always sang until I fell asleep.

    My mom used to buy these books that made you trace all of the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and different words. She would practice with me for hours at a time because it was my favorite thing to do as a kid.

    When I got into elementary school my favorite thing to do was read. My mom got a public library pass and I would go at least 3 times a week. I ALWAYS checked out Ten Little Ladybugs.

    I remember my first time remembering watching or at least remembering watching my parents was when it was my birthday and they tried to surprise me and I took a long nap. When they woke me up I saw how excited and happy they were and it has stuck with me since.

    When I was in the 5th grade, I was first introduced to poems. I didn't know that poems could make you feel emotions if you connect to it. I was going through a really rough time and poems helped me through a lot. It may have just been words that weren't that advanced, but it made me feel something.

    In the 6th grade my teacher, Mrs. Watts, was always obsessed with the Harry Potter series. I hated to read in middle school, so she brought me the first book from the series and told me to read it and see how I liked it.

    In the eighth grade, my teacher made us read a book about World War II and it is now one of my favorite books of all time. It was called 'Night" and it changed my entire perspective and really did help me understand how cruel, yet hopeful the world can be.

    Ever since that I was really little I have always been shy. It has always been one of my biggest fears. My first speaking experience was in eighth grade and it scared me to death. It was so bad that I almost passed.
