Muhammad was born in Mecca in Arabia.He belong to a powerful family.

Muhammad was very poor so he starts to work as a trader.

Muhammad his mother died in 576 when he was only six

In 610 Muhammad began to hear and see messages from God (Allah). He became very scared and feared that he was being possessed by devils.

After three years of receiving messages Muhammad decided that in he would become a preacher in 613. He started by speaking in public in large market places in Mecca.

So in 622 he moved from Mecca to Medinah. When he moved many of the people who had been listening to him preach followed him to Medinah. They began the first community of Muslims (people who follow the teachings of Muhammad) in Medinah. As the years passed Muhammad and his followers slowly built up an army so that they could take over the city of Mecca.

In 630 Muhammad’s army invaded and took over Mecca. By this time Muhammad’s preaching had attracted many followers and his religion and army grew very large.

By the time Muhammad died in 632 all of Arabia had converted to Muhammad’s Islamic religion.

In 595 Muhammad married a rich women named Khadijah. He became very wealthy.

In 619 his wife died. Muhammad was very sad. Additionally, many people in Mecca did not like that Muhammad had been telling people that he was receiving messages from God (Allah).
