I was born on October 20, 1868 in Spain and was born in to a very strict religeous family that wholy beleived in our country. I didnt like many of there opinions even at an early age and this is one of the main reasons that i decided to leave for America much later -

Santiago's Life

Left for America and Spanish American War Began
As i mentioned earlier i didnt very much care for many of my families opinions and strongly disagreed when the Spanish-American war started. I liked the Americans motives much more then the spanish and i decided to leave and fight for them. I left with very few belonings like cloths, 10 spanish coins, and a small amount of extra tacos. -
Arrival at America
I arrived at Ellis Island 8 days later and immetidatly saw the Statue of Liberty. I disembarked and went to be inspected. I hardly passed due to a slight cough but i got in and decided to participate in the war and i immediatly enlisted in the army. -
Life in Army
I fought very hard in my short time in the army. We won multiple battles but in the last battle i fought my arm was blown clean off leaving my with an obvious disability and i was forced to leave the army with very little money. -
Working in cotton fields
As hard as it was with one arm to work i was hired in very few places but it turned out that i worked great as a famer down south in the cotton fields. I loved it but it was time for me to move on because i was getting very little pay but then i heard about the movement west. -
Moving West
I had finnaly saved enough money to move west and i left with a small group of farmers. It was taking us a lot of time to travel over two months to some good free land in the west. -
Found Free land in West
I finnaly made it to the west and have found a decent piece of land to work on. Being disabled with one arm is very hard but im handiling it and my land is going well crops have been set up and i even have livestock. -
Having Finacel Problems
I lost some cows to wild animals and i cant produce enough bills to pay off the taxes or keep buying products. Unfortunalty if this continues i could lose my farm. -
Back on top and married
I recently met my wife and we just recently got married. Im no longer having any money problems with an extra pair of hands to help work. I plan on happily living my life like this for a long time -
Joures had died
Joures died late some time last night of hypothermia. He fell into a river and at his old age couldnt get out of the rather deep river. We found him today on the bank of the river. Im his son writing in his journal to give you a little closure if your reading this in the future then im sorry to inform you with this news.
