I finally convinced my parents to let me get a cat. I was only five, so her name was Sparkles. Although my family and I initially thought she was a female, it turns out that she was actually a he! When I was younger, I had picked out Sparkles because I wanted a female cat, so my parents didn't tell me. My mom got the vet's office and my extended family to hide it from me! She kept the secret until I was about 13, believe it or not.
