    Three months after I was born I started attending daycare ran by a family friend when my mother went back to work, one day while there I simple stopped breathing. Obviously 911 was called and soon I was taken to the hospital, they were never abke to diagnose what happened. For the next year I would be on steroids and required to where a heart monitor.

    The First Cancer Diagnosis
    My mother has been sick my entire life, diagnosed with M.S. for a moahority of it. During 2012 she began to get even sicker, after some testing a spot was fround on her pancreas. They could not treat this with chemotherapy.

    After the initial diagnosis of pancreatic cancer more test were ran. A scan was done on my mothers neck. This lead to the discover of thyroid cancer.

    The Operation
    They were able to operate on my mother to remove both the thyroid and pancreatic cancer. Both surgeries were dangerous and exstensive.

    The Longest Month Of 2012

    After two seemingly successful surgeries my mother came home. For only a few days. An infection occured near her pancreas that landed her back in the hospital. This caused her to miss my fourteenth birthday and my promotion to high school. My mother was in the hospital for thirty four days making it her longest hospital stay to date.
  • Church Trip to California

    Church Trip to California
    During my freshman year I hung out with a lot of kids who attended the same church. Around homecoming one of them invited me to go with them to California to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain on their church's yearly youth trip. I have never been religious and wasn't to excited for the church aspect of the trip. Despite this I had a wonderful time and met a lot of amazing people some of which I would become good friends with years later.
  • The Loss of My Grandmother

    The Loss of My Grandmother
    During my freshman year my grandmother started to get sick, She had had medical issues for years but they started worsening at an alrming rate. It was discovered that she had both breat and bone cancer that was spreading. Nothing could be done. My grandmother passed peacfully.

    The Drastic Pixie Cut
    A simple hair cut might not seem too significant to many people but to me getting the chop was drastic. I had been dying my hair since I was thirteen years old and needed a fresh start, so one night I made the decision to get a pixie cut. It was a compulsive decision and I felt a lot of regret half way through the process. Ultimately, I like the result. A lot.

    A New School
    I had a lot of difficulties at my first school, it was a nice place but was condusive for me at all. When spring break began, I withdrew and went to a charter school near my house. The school was designed for struggling students and credit recovery. I remained ther until the second semester of my Junior year.
  • My Brother Returns

    My Brother Returns
    My older brother Calvin lived in Flagstaff for roughly three years before returning to Scottsdale wiht his girlfriend. During the time he was gone, I barely got to see him. When he finally moved back it seemed like our family was somewhat whole again.
