The beginning
I was born on January 2, 1998. I was a big baby, weighing in at 8lbs 20 oz. I had an older brother and sister. -
growing up
I grew up in California leaving in 2 bedroom house. I shared a room with my brother and sister. We had a small farm where we would grow veggies. -
father and son
My father and I are really close. I spent a lot of time with him growing up. I helped him a lot with pulling out the weeds from the small garden we had, he showed me some of the things I know about gardening and landscape. -
Moved to Arizona
I wasn’t too excited about leaving California. I wanted to stay because I liked my school and friends. Eventually I went to a new school where I met a lot of new people. -
Parents separate
I was still young when my parents got a divorce so I didn’t really understand the situation. My mom and sister and I moved back to California and my older brother and dad stayed in Arizona to live. I had to make some new friends at my new school in California. -
Graduating 8th grade
It was a year when I was struggling and having hard time focusing. It was a challenge but I walked across the stage. It was one of my greatest accomplishments and my mother was there to give a big hug. -
trip to mexico
Going to Mexico was a great experience, I witnessed young kids working on the streets. That is when I realized not many people have the things I have, so I should take my life for granted. I also saw the beautiful beaches and mountains there after all I learned a lot of own culture. -
hard work
During each summer I work with my step dad in his company of landscape. I’ve always wanted my own play-station so I saved every bit of cash I got. Finally the day came when I had enough to buy my own play-station, I learned that hard work pays off. -
first day of high school
It was my first day of high school and I didn’t know what to expect. I realized it was different from middle school and I needed to focus a lot more. High school has been a good experience so far, I hope graduate on time because I want to make my family proud. -
moved with my older brother
My life has changed since I moved with my older brother. I have learned to be more independent and provide for myself. I have set a goal for myself to finish high-school and go to college. I look up to my brother because he has been through so hard times and he has become very successful.
