Lives in Trench Town, one of the poorest neighbourhoods. This period inspired many of his later songs.

Records his first song "Judge Not" recorded in Kingston by reggae producer Leslie Kong.

Forms his first band called: "The Teenagers"

The band change their name to "Bob Marley and The Wailers". They record over 70 songs in this period.

Marley marries Rita Anderson, a soul singer with "The Soulettes."

The band sign to island Records and release their album "Catch a Fire."

Marley holds the "One Love Peace Concert" in Kingston. Symbolically and literally bringing Jamaican political rivals together to shake hands on stage.

Marley collapses in Central Park whilst jogging. Doctors discover that the cancer has spread to his liver, lungs and brain.

Marley dies in a hospital on the 11th of May.
