Learning engagement 2. The IB future projections

  • IB was founded

This is when the IB was founded in Geneva.
  • MYP was introduced

The MYP was launched. Was set up for ages 11 - 16 and used the ATL's as an integral part of the MYP.
  • MYP eAssessment

The IB launches the MYP eAssessment.
  • ATL skills development

The IB will give all schools a clear rubric on how to assess the the ATL skills effectively and incorporate it into final grades calculations.
  • MYP splits

The MYP will split into two parts. The first part will be MYP 1, which will be year 7 - 9. The second part will be MYP 2 which will be year 10 - 11. This will enable the students in year 10 and 11 to be more prepared for the IB DP. This will include a more rigid structure and will have tasks similar to the EE and a subject similar to TOK.
  • DP improvement

The DP will have an overhaul, making the work more manageable for the students and teachers in the given timeframe. CAS will now also count towards a final grade and exams are more spaced out.
