Capitan Arther Phillip settled Australia and started the colony as NSW. -
Between 1825-1836 NSW took over the biggest/ most part of Australia.The rest of the land was allocated to WA. This meant that there were only 2 states in Australia

Van Demans land was separated from the state of NSW to make a separate colony off the mainland Australia.

From some of the land of NSW a new state was made called "south Australia." The capital of south Australia was called Port Adelaide, now day it's is called Adelaide.

From 1851 gold was decoved in Australia. This was the start of the Gold rush. A lot of peolpe herd of this, most peolpe came from overseas to find gold and have a mining license, thay also came to live in Australia
