The compromise prevented the expansion of slavery and strengthened the fugutive slave act. This event helped cause the Civil war because the northen states were mad about the fugutive slave act and the southern states were mad about the prevented expansion of slavery. -

The fugutive slave act said that you must return a runaway salve back to its origional owner. This helped cause the Civil War because this angered the North very much and some southerners. -

Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book about exploration of slave life. This helped cause the Civil War because it opened the eyes of northerns about the horros of slavery while the southerners protested against it and said it was slanderous. This caused more division between the north and south. -
Kansas Nebtaska Act of 1854
The Kansas Nebraska Act allowed settlers in both territories to determine whether or not to permit slavery by a popular vote. This helped cause the Civil War because settlers from both territories rushed over to Kansas to fight this and blood was shed between the pro and anti slavery agitators. -

Senator Charles Sumner Beat Down
Charles sumner was making a speech and preston Brooks a proslavery activist made fun of the speech and Charles beat him up for it. This helped cause the Civil war because it rilled people up from all territories. -
Dred Scott v. Sanford
Dred Scott case showed that slaves were not even human, they were a piece of property. They had no legal rights. This helped cause the Civil War because the North was very angered by this. -
John Brown's Raid
John Brown organized a group of white allies and free blacks and raided a government arsenal in search of weapons to send them down south to the slaves. This helped cause the Civil War because southerners militiarized to prepare for raids. -
Abraham Lincolns Election
Abrhams election helped cause the Civil War because he was a antislavery person who struck fear into the South. -
Southern Secession
This helped cause the Civil War because South Carolina and six other states seceded from the Union.
