Key Changes in Process for Identification

  • Evaluation is Warranted

    Evaluation begains when parents and the qualified school staff agree to start an offical evaluation.

  • Parent Permission

    After getting permission the evaluation process can began.

  • Referral/ Reevaluation

    Once proper permission is obtained, IEP team reviews data and determines if any other test need to be taken.

  • Review Information

    IEP team will look at medical records, IDEA 97 definition, classroom data, IQ tests, ect.

  • Determine Eligibility

    IEP team will determine eligibility or deny eligibility. Parent have the right to seek out independent eligibility determination for the school IEP team to consider.

  • Create IEP

    If student is eligible, the team will create an IEP with all appropriate documents.
