Bush-Gore Election
This is the first election I remember following closely as a kid, even though I had little idea of the implications. -
September 11
While the weight of September 11th was felt throughout the country, I was fortunate enough to not be personally affected by the attacks. -
Death of my Grandmother
This was the first death I had experienced as a child and was devestating to both me and my family. My grandmother was a kind, gentle woman and it was tought to see her go. -
Switched to a new school for 4th grade
I switched from the school across the street from my house to a private school in a different city. There I made two of my best friends for the next five years. The adjustment was easy because in fourth grade, making friends is a lot easier than it is when you are older. There were only 20 kids in my class and we spent a lot of time together so we all became good friends. -
Death of my Nana
My nana had been living with us for several years and her death hit our whole family very hard. -
Switched to new school for 8th grade
I transfered back to the district in my neighborhood and had to make all new friends just before starting highschool. Leaving my firends behind was tough, I was expected to make new friends and adjust to public school. It was hard for many months to make friends, but once I did those friends stuck with me through highschool. -

Started at ASU
This meant a move out of my parents house to the dorms, only 15 minutes away. Here I made all new friends and became best friends with my roommate. My parents expected me to do well and find my niche. I eneded up taking only a couple of classes and taking the next year off to work.
