    Jasper (5 months old) was given to her grandma, Louise. Both of his parents went overseas to find a job so that they can support Jasper's needs. Louise took care of Jasper as her own son. In Erikson's first stage, trust versus mistrust. This stage shows that a child learns how to trust or mistrust depending on the affection the child receives. If the child is well cared and loved, they will create that bond and trust. If not, child will learn to doubt and mistrust.
  • Early childhood

    Jasper (age 5) wanted to play with his toys past his bedtime. Her grandma, Louise, was not happy about it and took all of his toys away until Jasper learns his lessons. This is the third stage, initiative versus guilt. The stage that shows that if the child find that this new ability is approved in a way, initiative will develop in the future. If not supported, it will be labeled as misconduct and may result as a negative impact.
  • Middle to late childhood

    Middle to late childhood
    Jasper (age 11) wanted to learn Japanese because of him and his friend's interest on watching anime. His grandma, Louise, did not support this because she thinks it is just a waste of money. This is the fourth stage industry versus inferiority. If the child is supported in this stage, they will learn confidence in this skill that they learned. If not supported or didn't acquired the new skill, they will feel lesser compared to others.
