    My parents decied to send me and my brother to america, because the economy is not steady, thier were not a lot of jobs, and thier is not a lot of food.

    When I got to America both I and my brother were checked by doctors. I never saw my brother again. He may have been taken, because they thought he had a disease.

    As I entered my new life in America, I rode horse back to my aunt and uncles place. Where me and my brother were going to go their together. My parents had made arrangements for us to stay with them. Although I doughty I will see my brother again. Life was begun to get better.

    As I start to settle down in Hawaii with my aunt and uncle I need money. I look for a job. I finally find a job to work on a sugar plantation. The wages are low. I brought money from Japan, but I do not want to spend it. I want to save it for the future full of twists and turns.

    I got word from my other aunt and uncle that they were living in Oregon with plenty of land, they worked as farmers. They invited me to come and stay with them. There is not a lot of food in Hawaii with population growing, but in Oregon there is plenty of good soil, room for farming, and plenty of room for cattle. There is also lumber industry there.

    As I moved west my belongings were taken from me just as I reached America. Luckily for me I was only a day away from my family’s home.

    Finally I am old enough to have my own real job. Not a kid’s job. I helped with the families farming business. I am the accounted for my families farming business.

    Exclusion
    The Chinese exclusion act affected my family. Even though we were Japanese people considered us as Chinese. I and my family were forced out of our own business. The only jobs we were allowed to work were the railroads and other hard labor jobs. They forced us to do hard labor and get paid at low wages.
