  • The Missourori Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise was an agreement that passed in 1820 between the pro-slavery and anti-slavery political groups. Involving the regulation of slavery in the western teritories
  • Corrupt Bargain

    No candidate had recived a majority of electoral votes, so the outcome was put in the hands of the House of Representatives. The house had elected John Quincy Adams over rival Andrew Jackson. Many believe that the speaker of the house, Henery Clay, convinced the House to elect Adams.

    This act allowed the government to negotiate the Indians removal from the southern United States, to federal land west of the Mississippi River.

    This was a convention held for 5 days in the Philadelphia area for all the people of color in New York and Philadelphia. The convention covered the protection black peoples rights and to aid others who were in trouble.

    This took place in August 1831 in southhampton county, led by Nat Turner. Rebel Slaves killed between 55 to 65 white people. This was the highest number of slavery related killings caused by a slave uprising.

    The term "Six Flags over Texas" came from when several nations ruled over the territory. Mexico had controlled Texas until they won independance from the Mexican government in 1836
