James Madison approved a bill that would create the Second Bank of America after Hamilton's first bank failed in 1811. The goal of the bank was to make it easier for the Federal Government to handle funds. -

Though the bill passes both House and Senate, the bill for the Second Nation Bank was vetoed by Andrew Jackson.
