    The Indians gain more hatred towards the British at this point and start to support Ganhi more.

    Ghandi's Campaign

    Ghandi tried to have a disobedience campaign against the british. Although the idea of total disobedience was abandon, it gave room for future protest led by Ghandi.
  • Government of India Act

    There is a creation of a new constitution.
  • Ghandi's Death

    On his way home, Nathuram Godse shot Gandhi because he thought that Gandhi was harming the Hindu religion. The world felt sadness and hings in India were peaceful for a little afterwards.

    Elections

    Congress Party wins first general elections under leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru which shows that India is making its way to being more independant from the British.
  • Second war with Pakistan over Kashmir

    This is only the second war of a few. With this you can cleary see the tension between India and Pakistan that will grow beyond this point.
  • Treaty

    India signs a treaty with the Soviet Union, which is good in a way because it shows that India is growing and is big enough to have relations with a major union.
  • Assassination

    Indira Gandhi assassinated by Sikh bodyguards, afterwards her son takes over. Things are getting violent enough that head powers are being assassinated.
  • New Power

    Hindu nationalist BJP emerge as largest single party, pushing congress out of the way and putting a new power in charge.
  • 1 Billion

    India has 1 Billion citizens at this point, making it one of the largest countries and making it a great economical power.
