    This is a picture of Gandhi when he was young. This is significant because Gandhi started with his ideas at a young age.Gossip was spread along the Sepoys and the indian soldiers. The cartridges of their new rifles were greased with beef and pork fat. Both Hindus and Muslims were outraged by the news.

    Indian troops returned home after the war. British government promised reforms that would lead to self-government. Indians expected British government to accomplish their promise but they failed.     Protest against the Rowlatt Acts. Around 10,000 people (including Hindus and Muslims). The people flocked to a major city in Punjab called Amritsar, during spring. This picture shows the Amritsar Massacre and its tremendous disasters.

    Salt March

    This picture is important and refering back to the salt march because in the picture Gandhi is marching with his followers in the sea shore.Gandhi organized a march to defy the hated Salt Acts. These laws stated that Indians could not buy salt from anyone apart from the government. Indians had unjust taxes including paying taxes for salt. They showed their opposition by marching along the seacoast and gathering salt water to collect their own salt without depending on the government. After this event, about 60,000 people including Gandhi, were arrested.

    Horrible catastrophe emerged in January 30, 1948. Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by an Hindu nationalist, Nathuram Godse. This picture shows Gandhi on his funeral. This was a very impacting day to everyone since he was a true leader who used peace to be independent from Britain.
