  • Irish Potato Famine

    Irish Potato Famine
THe Irish Potato Famin is hurting everyone. Diseses are breaking out and Ireland is looking worse within each day. Pe ople are getting skinnier and looking like nothing but bones. I need to get out of this place, for that is the only way to avoid getting sick.
  • Big Decision

    Big Decision
It has been 5 ye I have made up my mind aars since the famine and I am going to immigrate to America in search of a better life. The Potatoe Famine has gotten too far.My brother and my father have both died because of cholera and my mom and I are still left. I plan on leaving her behinde and having her come later on. I will leave tonight for the ship. It will take about 2-3 weeks. I don't know what to expect, for I only brought some clothes and some of the money I have been saving up.
  • Arrival

    Arrival
I spotted in the corner of my eye the Statue of Liberty. Seeing that reminded me that I am here to achive my dream of owning a farm. I stepped off the boat with confident in my eyes, ready for anything that this journey has to give me.
  • Money

    Money
I went to the store to get some thread for my ripped dress and I was going to pay and they said that they didn't except my kind of money. Great. Just what I need, no money on the most important move of my life.
  • Job

    Job
It is about time I found a job around here. I was getting tired of having people lend me money. Working at the slum is not the most ideal job. People are sick, the heat is un-barable, is is crouded, and it is small. On the good side, I am just one step mfurther to a better life.
  • Land

    Land
I have met a farmer who has a whole bunch of land for his farm. He allowed me to volenteer to work at his farm for the promise of his "extra" land that he hasn't used and hasn't planned on using it. It looks like I will have this thanksgiving at my own house this year. My mother will be coming later this month. I have already made arrangements on the new house. My journey has not yet come to the end, but it has come to a new beginning.
