    Hi, my name is LaMrcus Johnson. I am French with Ethiopian background. I arrived in America on August 14, 1860 with yams, okra, and the knowledge of rice cultivation. My religious beleifs brough me to America because France discriminated my religion. Getting off the boat from France and seeing America was different. Going through the island and hearing a different language was just a big challenge. I was being examined left and right.

    Moving West
    I decided to move west because of the free 160 acres. The soil is untouched and perfect for farming. I can start the cow hearding I've always wanted to do. The trip across was long and harsh. The temperatures were a scorching 100 degrees.
  • Race for Land

    Race for Land
    After I had moved across the west I was in Ollahoma Territory. I was preparing for the race to get land. Everybody was trash talking and screaming. Once the race had started about an hour later I had found land.It was beautiful. A stream ran through so I had fresh water 160 acres all mine.

    I had persued my dreams and started my cow herding. I bought 20 cows and I am selling milk and meat. I use their dung as cowchips to keep the fires and stoves running.
