    A more modular approach is taken to IB courses whereby students are able to choose components of subjects rather than necessarily following the entire subject. This could then guide their choices. For example, a pupil could choose to focus on climate change and would learn the elements of chemistry, Maths, physics, geography etc that furthered their knowledge of the chosen issue.
