This is the day I called my insurance company to see if I should get flood insurance. I was advised not to. https://youtu.be/q_3_5txljZc

It's a song by Johnny Cash. My son and I were walking around taking pictures, playing that song. I might have a strange sense of humor. https://youtu.be/EDN2K1aFY3g

My area was the last area to get to our homes. It was a pool of water. Our houses sat in water for a month. We watched as others were cleaning their homes while we couldn't even see ours. https://youtu.be/5T3CnwAsIb4

This is what I call the real evacuation. We were evacuated once before, but I didn't pack much nor did I move much. The second time around I moved and packed as much as I could. It felt more real. Good thing I did, because it was the real deal. The last time I saw my house before the flood.

After several attempts to get to my home, I finally see it and get inside. https://youtu.be/VrqWOlm5S3I

Everything was covered in so much mud, except for this teacup. It was eerily quiet in there. And horribly smelly.

My house is on the front boulevard. They would come every so often and scoop it up and cart it away. In this picture they are taking my microwave.

This map shows that there was 10.5 feet of water on the street. That means there was 7 feet of water on my main floor.

New windows that had to be special ordered.

My father bought me the counter top and I bought the sink. Extra deep for the big pots!
