    Jewish Boycott
    The Jewish Boycott is when the Germans boycotted stores owned by Jewish people. The word Jude (Jew) was painted on the store windows. The boycott only lasted a single day, but attracted lots of attention all over the world.

    Aryan Law
    An aryan is a race that the Nazis believed to be the highest grade of humans. At the top of the scale are Germans. The Jewish people were at the very bottom if the scale. They were given hardly any respect.
  • Berlin Book Burning

    Berlin Book Burning
    The Nazis publicly burned books that were not published by aryans. The works of non-aryan people were taken out of libraries all over Germany. About 70,000 tons of books were burned. About one third of all the library books were burned.
  • Nuremberg Laws

    Nuremberg Laws
    These were laws that placed limitations on the Jewish people and took away their citizenship. Some examples are : Marriages between Jews and citizens of German or related blood are forbidden, marriages preformed despite this ban are invalid even preformed abroad to avoid the law. Jews are not permitted to display the german flag or national colors.

    Law number 174 made the Jewish people change their name to something from a published list of names that are considered Jewish. All of the Jewish men had the middle name "Israel". All of the Jewish women had the middle name "Sarah".
  • Night of Broken Glass

    Night of Broken Glass
    A Jewish family shot and killed a minor official at the German embassy in Paris. The Nazis used this as an excuse to destroy a lot of Jewish property. It is know as the "Night of Broken Glass" because lots of glass from Jewish stores and properties littered the streets.
  • Jewish Star Requirement

    Jewish Star Requirement
    It became a mandatory thing for the Jewish people to wear the Star of David on their clothing. It wasn't opptional, you could get killed if you were not wearing the star.
