Hitler was born in Braunau am Inn (currently Austria, although at the end of the 21st century it belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire) on April 20, 1889, the son of customs official Alois Hitler and Klara Pölzl. -
Army
Hitler moved to Munich, Germany, in May 1913 to avoid arrest for evading his military service obligation in Habsburg Austria, but on January 18, 1914, a police officer served him with a court summons stating his return was demanded: dodging military service was reason for a heavy fine, but leaving Austria carried a prison sentence. Hitler was examined on February 5, but was declared unfit for military service. -
