  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was referred to the Seven Years' War. This was about France and Great Britain fighting in North America. The ear ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763.

    The Industrial Revolution began in England. This was the name given to the period of time in which machines began to change people's lives. This period helped people by making work easier and faster.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Britain starting taxing the colonists tea so in protest, Samuel Adams led the Sons of Liberty aboard three ships. At this time they threw 342 chests of tea over the boat into the ocean. This resulted in the Coercive acts which pushed the two sides closer to war.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    The Revolutionary war was about gaining independence from Great Britain. The First battle was Lexington and Concord in 1775 and lasted until the battle of Yorktown in 1781. That was the formal end of the war. In the end there was the Compromise of 1787. This meant that all large and small states would get equal representation in the senate and representation based on population in the House of Representatives.

    The writing of the Constitution was signed during the Philadelphia convention. This set rules for the new government to follow. The Constitution need eleven states to ratify it so it could be put into practice.

    The start of factories first started in 1794 with the Cotton Gin created by Eli Whitney. The use of water power and steam engines marked the beginning of the factory system. By 1844, the Telegraph was invented by Samuel Morse that helped get messages across wire to people all over the world.

    Lewis and Clark were asked by Thomas Jefferson if they would lead an expedition across the Western United States. This was done shortly after the Louisiana purchase.
  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri Compromise
    The Missouri Compromise was passed by agreement by the pro-slavery and anti-slavery of the Congress in the United States. This compromise banned all slavery in the Louisiana territory. States North of the line were free of slavery and states south of the line were not free of slavery. In 1854 The Compromise was revoked by the Kansas-Nebraska Act.

    Bleeding Kansas was a bunch of violent attacks right before the vote on slavery. This led to the Missouri Compromise that split free and slave states. This was known as the prelude to the Civil War.

    This war was fought in the United States. The Union and the Confederate states of America were at war with each other. There were many reasons that lead to the civil war, some include: preserving the Union and religion.

    The Reconstruction era was a time after the Civil War when the government had to rebuild the country. Along with that was the problem of what to do with all the freed slaves. One major influence in this time was the KKK. They were a group of people who hated blacks and would go around and torture and beat up the blacks. They would even Lynch them.

    Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilke's Booth at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C. John Wilke's booth had believed that President Lincoln would overthrow the Constitution and destroy the south.
