    November 29, 1864- Sand creek massacre
    The United states soldiers attacked 2 native american tribes, the were “The Cheyenne and Arapaho¨. During the attack they killed women and children. The massacre began when the tribes were forced to accept the new laws in 1861. The native americans began to trouble the whites by raiding their ranches and stealing livestock and it got worse when the sioux starting robbing wagons.

    Bozeman Trail
    The bozeman trail started being mapped right after the Civil war. It was to find the fastest route for the settlers and gold seekers going to Montana from Missouri. The trail cut through the hunting grounds of the native americans. Forts were being built along the Bozeman trail. Treaties were made and signed by the local leaders, but Indian leaders who signed the treaty did not always speak for all their people. That caused Conflict
