    The first ever message was sent from one computer (ucla) to another (stanford university) over the arpanet which was the governments computer network during that time

    VINTON CERF
    Vinton Cerf created Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) which was a way to introduce computers from across the globe to one another in a virtual space. After it was then called Internet Protocol (IP)

    University of Hawaii's aloha network was added followed by other networks in London and Norway

    RAY TOMILNSON
    Ray Tomlinson was developing the first system to send mail back and fourth between users of Arpanet. This was eventually called Email, and the @ symbol was born so users have their name and their host name apart
