    Packet-Switching was when sent files were broken down into smaller files and then put back together once they reached the recieving end. Packet switching helped keep files clear, and prevent congestion in the internet.

  • First Basic Language Software from Bill Gates

    Bill Gates and frined Paul make the first basic languate software for computers, called Altar Basic

  • Microsoft goes International

    Microsoft opens its first international sales office in Japan

  • ARPANET Removed

    ARPANET is removed, becasue the internet is up and running.

  • Microsoft grows in popularity

    Microsoft programming is used on 90% of all computers.

  • Netscape is Launched

    Netscape Communications is launched in 1994 by Jim Clark; it was one of the fastest growing companies at the time.

  • Yahoo! is founded

    Yahoo! is founded by David Filo and Jerry Yang at Stanford University.

    Microsoft is brought to court for making illegal deals and other charges. The company is found guilty and it is suggested that the company split into two, because it was so powerful.

    The first personal blogging site was created in 1998. However blogging didn't catch on with much of the public until 2002.

    Google is founded by Larry Page and Sergy Brin

  • Gates steps down

    Microsoft never is split into two, because it was decided that it was too harsh of a punishment. Gates steps down as CEO and gives position to friend Steve Balmer.
