Special Olympics
The Special Olympics promotes inclusion and provides an opportunity for people with disabilities to participate in sporting activities such as basketball, soccer and athletics, regardless of their disability.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
This initial federal law was passed to prohibit discrimination against people with disability. Any federally funded entity, including all schools are required to provide a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to children with disabilities, including providing reasonable accommodations depending on their individual needs, that allows them to participate in activities. -
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was established to ensure that all children with disabilities were given a free appropriate public education to help them to become independent, productive members of society. -
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
ADA is an anti-discrimination law and its passing made it illegal for any public or private entity that offers goods or services to the public to discriminate against anyone with a disability. It includes making buildings and other areas accessible to people with disability, regardless of the disability. -
The Friendship Circle
The Friendship circle is an international organization that seeks to connect people with disabilities to others, to foster friendship and companionship through various activities such as camping and sporting events.

Special Education Rights
The State of Florida passed laws under the banner of Exceptional Student Education that affords parents of children with disabilities to bring an advocate of their choosing in any meetings with school officials, without objection or prejudice.
