    In 1895 Marconi was beleived to be the first person to send and recieve a message wirlessly.

    In 1906, Lee De Forest came up with (or borrowed) the idea of an amplifier. It was the first of its kind to take a simple signal and amplify it. It helped people send signals further.
  • The radio we know

    In 1920 Framk Conrad developed the first radio station entitled "8XK". He basically took a microphone, lied it against a phonograph and let it play.
  • First Commercial

    The first Radio advertisment was aired. Running for about ten minutes on the radio station "WEAF" charging 50$ to have them play it. This started the development of Radio making money.

    The Federal Communications Commission was developed after the explosion of free-lance radio stations popping up everywhere.

    When Television came out it smashed the radio. All the radio advertisments left and transfered to Television, Even the radio shows jumped ship and left the failing entertainment way.

    Xm radio was introduced and offered a totally new way of listening to radio. Higher Qualty!!
