  • 1837-1901

    There were many changes in designs for this time, 1837 the Victorian had decorative borders, carefully placed words and it had symmetry. this time period was also not the most colorful

  • Arts and Crafts 1880-1910

    Used older design styles, simple forms, had different typography and text style and had many different types of textures.

  • Art Nouveau 1890-1920

    this graphic design was more hand drawn style and used female forms for the art texture. this style didn't last too long.

  • Futuristic designs 1900-1930's

    This design was more linear than some previous designs, used off set texts, featured new technological advances in the style and used no traditional features.

  • Early modern design of 1910-1935

    In this time the graphic designs had more geometric styles, used more pictures and less illustrations as well as smaller words.

  • Heroic realism design of 1910-1940

    This time period was more based on wars but used realistic pictures to show emotions, clear but bold text and had strong messages used in this design. which later evolved to what we see now in news paper headings.

  • Late Modern graphic design 1945-1960

    In this time period for design it used geometric shapes but misplaced them, they were very simple compared to past designs and was a not very decorative type of design.
