    A charter is a legal document that grants special rights and privileges. The charter established granted all lands between the Savannah and Atlanta Rivers. Trustees could not own land, hold political offices, or be given money for their work. They also couldn't pass laws without King's permission.

    The article was agreeed amoung 13 states that established the United States. It took a year to approve and send it to the state. The Articles provided domestic and international legitimacy.

    The Constitutional Convention was also known as Philadelphia Convention. It happened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1787. The committee on style voted in the final version and sent it to the senate.

    Jmes Oglethorpe was the founder og the colony of Georgia. He found it in 1793. It's one of the oldest established ares in the northeast. They then founded Savannah, Georgia.

    The cotton gin was amachine that was seperated the seeds from the cotton. Before the machine was invinted, it took100 of man hours toclean cotton. After it was invinted 50 pounds of clean cotton was produced daily. The demand doubled every decade.

The problem got biggerwhen county leaders began selling land that was not suitable for farming. Some even sold land that didnt even exist. The Yazoo Land Fraud was the most known land. It mostly involved land in the Western part of Georgia.

    Two dys after the war started, Lee retreated to Virginia. 23,000 Union and Confederate soldiers had been either killed or wounded. It was the bloodiest one day battle of the Cival war. This war was led by Robert E. Lee.

    Lee decided to take the war into the North again. He thought maybe if they won it, it would covince the Northerners to end the war. The third day Lee attcked the center of the union forces, they were ready. Within a few minutes Picketts troops 13,000 lay dead or wounded.

    General Braggs defeated the union forces ot Chickamauga. Braggs trapped the Chattanoga after the victory, they even placed cannons on lookout mountain. Grant sent 10,000 union troops up to the mountain to drive 2,000 confederate defenders off the mountain.

    Plessy was jailed for sitting in a "white" rail car. He could easily pass for white but under Louisanna law he was considered black. He was required to sit in the "colored" car.
