    Savannah was the first city founded in Georgia. James Oglethorpe was the founder. The ship he and his trustees arrived on was "Anne." Indian Chief Tomochichi gave Oglethorpe permission to land in Savannah. They spoke different languages so a translator, Mary Musgrove provided communication between the two men.

    This war was a conflict between Great Britain and their American colonies versus the French and their Indian Allies. The British won this war. The winning side won the Ohio Valley and much more land. This was a major cause of the American Revoloution because it caused a major debt for Great Britain and they only raised taxes on the American Colonists because they felt that since they fought the war in America that they should help pay the debt.

    It gave Indians land west of the Appalachian Mts. and ordered white settlers to remove themselves from the territories. King George put an embargo on the American Indians. The colonists were angry because they lost land and money.
