Charter of 1732
The charter of 1732 was the founding document of GA.It was granted by King George the 3rd. 3 purposes: give debtors another chance, freedom of religion, and to serve as a barrier from the spanish. Alchol and slavery, Catholics, Blacks, and Lawyers were forbidded. 21 trustees were put in charge of GA. They were not allowed to hold office in GA, live in GA, or recieve pay for being a trustee. -

the first town founded in GA. Founded by James Oglethorpe. He and his men arrived in the ship Anne. Chief Tomochichi gave them permission to land on yamacraw bluff. Mary Musgrove served as their translator since they spoke two different languages. -
