    The Greeks used to draw on artifacts, vases, and pottery. They drew on scenes from battles and myths.
  • Middle Ages

    Middle Ages

    Monks drew inside Bibles to illustrate stories and religious messages. They would draw on wood, slate, or wax because parchment paper and animal hides were too expensive.

    The renaissance period was a period that helped us redefine and come to what we recognize today as art. They experimented with new soft materials like chalk and charcoal.
