Walt Disney World, the largest theme park in the world, opened in central Florida on October 1, 1971. The park spans more than 40 square miles and now boasts four theme parks, two waterparks, golf courses, a shopping destination, and 27 resort hotels. -
On April 15, 1983, Tokyo Disneyland opened in Japan. It was the first Disney park to be built outside of the United States. On opening day, the Disney chairman of the board, Card Walker, and the president of Oriental Land Company, Masatomo Takahashi were hosts to the ribbon-cutting ceremony. -

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort opened on March 1, 1996, in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The resort was designed as a 1940s Carolina Lowcountry vacation lodge and features private access to a 12-mile beach. -
Disney's first cruise ship, the Disney Magic, set out on its maiden voyage on July 30, 1998, from Port Canaveral, Florida. Disney Cruise Line now has four ships, with another setting sail during the summer of 2022. -
Adventures by Disney is a travel program that began in May 2005. The travel program started with tours to Wyoming and Hawaii, but now has tours that go all over the world. -
Hong Kong Disneyland is the eleventh Disney park, which opened in Hong Kong on September 12, 2005. The resort includes a park and two hotels. -
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is a resort located in west Oahu's Ko Olina Resort & Marina. It opened on August 29, 2011. Hawaii's culture and connection to nature are a big part of the design of this resort. -
Shanghai Disney opened in Shanghai, China on June 16, 2016. The resort features a Magic Kingdom-style theme park with six themed lands, as well as two hotels, a shopping district, and a recreation area.
