Konrad Zuse created the first binary digital computer called the Z1. -
Colossus
Alan Turning created Colossus, the machine that broke Hitler's Enigma code. -
CRT Storing
F.C. Williams created the precedent to RAM, the CRT memory storage. This event is important becuase it paved the way for RAM in the future. -
Made in Japan
The first electronic computer is made in Japan by Hideo Yamachito. This is important because without innovation in this field, it wouldn't have likely been looked into until a later time which would have delayed development as we know it. -
Into Space
Sputnik I and II are launched into space by the U.S.S.R. This lead into the space age motivated us to advance in technology. -
COBOL
The Common Business-Oriented Language is created. It is important because at the time, it helped pave the way to business computer programming that we have today. -
Mouse
The mouse as we know today was invented by Douglas Engelbart. Without his invention, computers would be a lot hardrer to use. -
Portable
The first portable computers are created. This is important becuase it opened up research into the handhelds we have today. It was created by Altair. -
Microsoft
Microsoft is created by Bill Gates. Without this software, many technological advancments and conviences wouldn't exist today. -
Google
Google was invented on this day by Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Without Google, a lot of important advancements would never have happened.
