The American College Promise is designed to offer free community college education for two years for responsible students. This allows more students access to education in the hopes of transferring into a four-year program where they can earn a bachelor's degree. Phoenix College partners with Rio Salado to provide students in Rio Salado's Adult Education program a pathway towards PC's medical assistant programs. PC has notoriously had some of the best medical programs in Arizona, so this provides opportunities for adult learners to jumpstart into this field. The American Families Plan, much like the American College Promise from Obama six year ago, provides two free years of community college education for students. This plan explicitly aims to provide assistance for marginalized communities such as BIPOC and low to middle-income families. This provides more access to diverse student populations.
