Around 6,000 years ago, people from southeast Asia called the Aborigines arrived in Australia. They occcupied it for about 40,000 yrs. The word aborigines means “people who were here from the beginning” They found different ways to adapt to the enviroment and live off the land, and they were nomadic. They created lots of inventions and historic stories.

They forced the remaining Aborigines to work and live in the outback. They also wrote laws that hurt the Aborigines.
