    Russian Architecture

    Russian architecture is influenced by Greek, the central vaults of the temple crossed each other forming a cross crowned by a dome. Russian temples featured domes. In the 12th century, started the emergence of Russian style in temple architecture and painting. In the 18th century was the time of Russian baroque style formation which has shapes, porticos, and colonnades, and color palette. Modern was another milestone in the architecture of the early 20th century

    Swiss Chalet Architecture

    The word “chalet” first appeared in Canton de Vaud in 1328 to describe simple log cabins, occupied by farmers which are rudimentary shelters used for only a few months. The foundation is often stone or cement and is exposed on the downhill side. Copious windows and broad galleries is a way to unite indoors and out, a critical function for outdoor activities. The galleries are bounded by a railing that caps vertical boards, closely spaced and sometimes decoratively carved.

    Renaissance Architecture

    A type of architecture that reflects classical culture.
    This type of style originated in Florence in the early 15th century which was spread throughout Europe replacing the medieval gothic style of architecture.
    Influenced by ancient Roman forms such as the column, round arch, the tunnel vault, and the dome.
    During the Classical period, the proportion was the most important factor of beauty. Most renaissance architects found harmony between human proportions and buildings.

    Elizabethan Architecture

    The Gothic style of architecture moved into the Renaissance style of architecture. And the first Renaissance style architecture in England was Hampton Court. Hampton Court was built by Cardinal Wolsey between 1514 and 1528. The emphasis was placed on a horizontal rather than a vertical line. It features marble floors instead of the rushes used as floor coverings during the Medieval era.

    Neoclassical Architecture

    Neoclassical architecture is a revival of Classical architecture during the 18th and early 19th centuries. The movement concerned itself with the logic of entire Classical volumes. Neoclassical architecture is characterized by the grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, Greek or Roman detail, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls.
