Many years ago in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the Declaration of Independence was written. This declaration was written as a statement for the Kingdom of Great Britain that the 13 American colonies now considered them selves in independent from the British rule. Many men signed this document including John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

The Louisiana Purchase was a purchase by Abraham Lincoln the president at the time. President Lincoln wanted to purchase the Port of New Orleans from France and since France was in need of money they offered to sell Lincoln the whole Louisiana Territory. The Louisiana Territory doubled the size of the United States and gave the United States the power of not only the Port of New Orleans but also the Mississippi river.

The Lewis and Clark journey is a well known journey of the Louisiana Territory. Two friends, Lewis and Clark, explored the Louisiana Territory in order to explore its many vast oddities. These two men recorder many new scientific discoveries not known before exploring the Louisiana Territory and made maps of this new place for future travelers. These two men were appointed to do this by president Jefferson.

The Texas Revolution was an act of rebellion against the Mexican Government. At the time Mexico owned Texas and they began to enforce laws the Texans were not okay with. Texas eventually won and then asked to join the United States of America.

The Trail of Tears was an Indian Removal act invoked by President Andrew Jackson. This act forced Native Americans away from their homeland and put them in present day Oklahoma. This is called the "Trail of Tears" because it was a long and truly a horrendous act evoked in American Indians.

The Gold Rush is an infamous event in American History. In the California Gold Rush people from all over tried there hardest to find there way to California to pan for gold. Gold was very expensive so many people wanted it and people would do whatever they could to get it no matter what.

The attack on pearl harbor was a surprise attack by the Japanese. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which lead to around 2,300 Americans. The attack on Pearl harbor lead the United States into World War 2.

The march on Washington was for jobs and freedom. 200,000 Americans gathered for the political rally known as the march on Washington. At this rally Martin Luther King jr gave his "I Have A dream" speech.

On September 11th 2001 terrorists attacked our country. The terrorists flew an airplane through the twin tours which was an office building in NYC. Many lives were lost, it was a very sad time in our nations history.
